From the Heart

Mission

As a faithful Community we are committed to spreading God’s love. One way we do this at OLGC is by acknowledging the joys and life moments of our brothers and sisters in Christ. We celebrate their milestones such as special birthdays, anniversaries and sacraments. A “Welcome to the Parish” greeting can surely make one’s day! By sending out greeting cards for such occasions we are a reminder of God’s love in our parish family.

Educational

Mission

Reading/Math to School age students:

Mission: Our mission is to provide the opportunity for additional reading and/or math time for elementary students in our Union-Endicott schools. Volunteers generally go into the classroom one day a week for 30-50 minutes to work with students. Volunteers may visit more than one class or spend additional time if they wish.

Community Presentations:

Mission: To provide educational/informational sessions periodically on relevant topics of interest to the parish i.e. health care, support group presentations; hospice care, etc.

›› If you have a topic you would like to see presented to the parish please email the church with your suggestions.

Fresh Air Fund

Mission

The mission of the Fresh Air Fund Ministry is to extend Christ’s love and hospitality to all of His children. This is accomplished by enlisting host families to provide a one or two week summer vacation in their home for a child from one of the five boroughs of New York City. Aside from finding hosts, the committee also helps with publicity, and plans picnics and outings for the children and their host families while they are visiting our area. The Fresh Air Fund has been serving children since 1877.
